Dance Miss Thang!, is the grand finale of Monroe’s collection, celebrating the 100-year evolution from 1924’s golden era to the brilliance of 2024. Inspired by the lively spirit of the Harlem Renaissance, this photo captures the energy, style, and liberation of a modern-day female.
Dressed in a detailed vintage-inspired fringe dress, the model strikes powerful dance poses that evoke a sense of empowerment. The title, "Dance Miss Thang!", is a nod to the phrase that once encouraged and uplifted women and gay men, now transformed into a symbol of strength and pride for women leading the charge in various fields, much like Kamala Harris in the political sphere. This piece highlights how Black people in general, are stepping into spaces of influence with grace, power, and unapologetic self-expression, capturing the spirit of today’s Boss Lady. It also speaks to how Monroe currently finds himself at that self expression.
